'Coffee in Leesburg '
Apr 23, 2010
Another weekend, another Leesburg trip! The town just has so much to offer. Previously I’d mentioned the awesome coffee shop that I am just compelled to visit each time I’m there. Here’s part of the reason why: not only do they have excellent coffee, but they are also steeped in local history. According to Talk Loudon, the window countertops at the front of the store were made from the original shoe shine stand and the bookcases inside were assembled from shoe shelves.

I’m not usually a fan of the stupid stuff most websites do on April Fool’s Day, but I like what Google is doing with their search results. Note the subtlety:
Wonky search speeds from Google on April 1st
Users are also noting some other fun search speed variations:
nanocenturies gigawatts (from Back To The Future) parsecs (from Star Wars) femtogalactic years microfortnights centibeats centons shakes of a lamb's tail epochs (time since Jan 1st, 1970 in computer time) microweeks at NN hertz at warp NN This beats their most obvious joke hands down, wouldn't you say?

Spring is here in Reston Town Center! Woohoo! Okay, okay - it is in the mid 50s, but I can at least see the light at the end of the tunnel.
The Key to a Long Lasting Marriage
Mar 04, 2010
Apparently the key to a long lasting marriage is by keeping track of it through The Knot. Kristin uses the site to get to our guest list data, which the site happily stores for us. Isn’t that nice? Here’s what the home screen looked like when she logged on recently.
Relatively benign, right? Wait a minute…something isn’t right here! Let’s take a closer look.

I’ve been away from this little internet space for about two and a half years. Sorry about that. In my own defense, I was in grad school, purchasing a house, quitting jobs, finding other jobs, and watching movies (lots of movies). My goal from now on is to add content to this site regularly as a means to express myself and to own my own content. I’ll be posting under a couple of categories, the first two being “blog” and “galleries.
