This past Monday we lost our family’s golden retriever, Sandie. She gave us almost 11 years of adventures and joy. Here are some assorted memories of her that I don’t want to forget.
We got her from Liberty Run Golden Retrievers out of Maryland. We were lucky enough to get the pick of the litter, and knowing we wanted a female we visited to pick one out. Little did we know that she’d pick us! When the caretaker let all of the puppies out into their front yard and we called out “here, puppy puppy!” she was the one that came a-running. She had to take a #2 pit stop on the way over, but she eventually made it to our open arms. It was love at first sight.
She was a ball of energy when we got her home, and also a chew monster. She preferred wood to the myriad toys we bought her, going through several window sills and hardwood corners before eventually settling down. Goodness n
